Achille e Piergiacomo Castiglioni

Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni were born in Milan, where together they create their own professional activity, starting a design based on the study of shapes, techniques and new materials, they try to reach a process of realization of an "integral" project. The two brothers are the founders of the Industrial Design Association. Achille Castiglioni then became professor of Industrial Design in Milan, to then concentrate on research and experimentation for the preparation of art exhibitions, such as the Milan Triennale. Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, on the other hand, founded the study of "Architecture, Urban Buildings and Research in Industrial Design" together with his brother Livio and then concentrated on the drafting of a pamphlet on the Master Plan of Milan: "Fifty remarkable squares of the future Milan". In addition to this, Pier Giacomo became a university lecturer and completed some works that were exhibited at the Milan Triennale in 1964. Among their most important works in the field of lighting we see Toio, Taccia and Snoopy.
