Santi & Borachia

The architect duo Santi and Borachia met during the golden years of the Milan Polytechnic in the 1940s and have since begun a lasting and passionate collaboration in exploring the world of architecture and design. Their career path led them to work with some of the most visionary companies of the time, such as Arteluce, which attracted the most talented architects and designers thanks to the experimental approach of its founder, Gino Sarfatti. As the years went by, the duo focused more and more on urban planning, but they never stopped exploring lighting and furniture design, both as a duo and under their own names. Their design, always elegant and essential, has been influenced by the logical and formal principles of the most recent industrial techniques and materials, which they have been able to use with skill such as plastic, wood or glass. For the Astep brand they create SB Cinquantotto extraordinary suspension lamp in hand-blown opaline glass. With a characteristic shape, an original flush mount and a timeless choice of materials, the 1958 SB Cinquantotto lamp is a true masterpiece for contemporary living.
