YOY

YOY is a design studio founded in Tokyo in 2011 by Naoki Ono and Yuki Yamamoto, operating on a global scale. Their work mainly focuses on furniture, lighting and interiors, exploring the theme "between space and objects". Specializing in the creation of products that tell short stories of everyday life, YOY has created works such as "CANVAS", a canvas with the design of a chair that can be used as a chair by placing it against a wall, and "SCRIBBLE", a series of placemats that look like doodles. These products go beyond simple functionality and ease of use, pursuing an aesthetic and narrative dimension.

YOY first exhibited its independent projects at Milan Design Week in 2012 and has participated in this event for eight consecutive years. Their works are now marketed by both European and American brands. Among their exhibitions, stand out "FICTIONALITY", which presents works that introduce elements of fiction into everyday life, and "EXISTENCE", focused on themes such as human nature, perception and existence.

YOY's creations are sold all over the world and have received numerous international awards.

For the Lodes brand, the YOY design studio creates the Hover table and floor lamps. These lamps are distinguished by the lampshade which appears to be suspended from the base, connected via a single cable that passes through the stem. This design creates the illusion that the light is floating in the air like a balloon. Hover features a dimmer that can be controlled by touching the top end of the stem, allowing you to easily adjust the intensity of the light. All technical functions are integrated into the internal structure of the lamp and the power supply is via a USB cable. The lampshade is made of a composite of paper and polymer film, which accentuates the lightness of the design and increases its durability. The Hover series is available in two versions: a 51.5 cm high table lamp and a 149.2 cm high floor lamp. Suitable for various uses, such as on a desk, coffee table or next to a sofa, the floor lamp is also ideal for public spaces such as airport lounges, hotel rooms or lobbies.
