Ron Arad

Ron Arad, born in Tel Aviv in 1951, is an internationally renowned architect, artist, and designer. After studying at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, he moved to London to further his education at the prestigious Architectural Association, where he studied under Bernard Tschumi.

His artistic production is distinguished by his continuous experimentation with form and materials such as steel, aluminum, carbon fiber, and polyethylene. In addition to his work as a designer, he has held teaching positions at renowned institutions such as the Vienna University of Applied Arts and the Royal College of Art in London, where he headed the Product Design Department for several years.

Among his successful collaborations with leading companies in the design world, we recall the famous Bookworm bookshelf for Kartell and avant-garde seating for Moroso.

For Lodes, Ron Arad creates Cono di Luce, a lamp with a modern design and high luminous efficiency, perfect for refined environments. The unique flexible printed circuit inside the transparent Pyrex® cone creates an interesting contrast between light on and off, creating a unique and elegant visual effect. The 1.6 mm thick PCB frame not only provides support for the lamp and allows for turning on, but also ensures the correct positioning of the PCB sheet. Once turned on, Cono di Luce transforms the environment with its optical texture that creates plays of light, shadows, and overlays. Available in three different frame finishes - red, gray, and gold - and in two variants, both as a table lamp and a pendant, Cono di Luce presents itself as a decorative and functional work of art to make every space unique.

His most important works are exhibited in the most prestigious international museums, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
